Microblading Vs Waxing & Tinting
Believe it or not, there is a HUGE difference when it comes to these two types of services! We’re going to break it down into multiple categories so that you can feel informed and confident in making a decision when it comes to what service is going to be best for you!
Maintenance:
Microblading can last up to 3 years before needing a touch up! That being said, everyone’s skin retains pigment differently. If there was a magic number I would say it would be around a year and a half before needing to get a color boost. But lately I’ve had client’s returning to me 3+ years later and their brows are still looking great! Your other brow hair doesn’t magically disappear though haha. You are still going to need to tweeze or shave any extra stray hairs yourself! But you will have that perfect guide so you can be confident making sure you don’t over tweeze!
Waxing & Tinting is a more high maintenance commitment. Your brow hairs will grow back every 4-6 weeks and the brow tint only lasts around 2 weeks. You’ll also want to return to your brow artist to redo these services so you don’t risk damaging any healthy brow hair follicles trying to do it yourself. But this can be a great option for those who have an abundance of natural brow hair and don’t mind scheduling appointments every few weeks.
Pricing:
This is always a big deciding factor for my clients! And you’re going to be shocked when I break down the pricing between the two… These numbers are the averages around Utah County and Salt Lake County (Lehi, Bluffdale, American Fork, Orem, Provo, Saratoga Springs, Draper, Sandy, Herriman, South Jordan, and Eagle Mountain)
Microblading has a higher initial investment cost at around $500 for the first appointment. But after this your color boost appointments every 1-3 YEARS is around $300
Waxing & Tinting is a lower upfront cost around $45 per service. BUT with needing touch ups every 2-6 weeks this puts your annual cost at $1080!!! CRAZY RIGHT?!

Appointment Time:
Not everyone has the time to set aside for beauty appointments. If you’re anything like me, you’re looking for the quickest option but has the best results!
Microblading/Combo Brows can take anywhere between 2-3 hours every 1-3 years!
Waxing & Tinting Is around 30-40 minutes every two weeks. Which adds up to about 12 HOURS per year!
It’s a no brainer if you ask me! You save time AND money by choosing Microblading. That said, waxing & tinting might be more your style and that is 100% okay too! You do you!
