What Can I Expect With My First Microblading Appointment?
This is one of my most commonly asked questions! I feel like this is EXTREMELY important to understand before making the commitment to having permanent makeup.
Your first session is where we determine the correct shape of your brows and complete the Microblading procedure. We’ll start with a numbing cream, and then we will find your shape by using the Golden Ratio and your natural features. I prefer to use this method compared to others because it always turns out most appealing to the natural eye. We go off your natural width (this can be found typically at the front of the brow). We also take your brow bone into consideration and how straight or arched the natural brow is. Microblading is not meant to change the shape or give you unrealistic expectations of your brows, it is only to enhance the brows you have have and the shape that works with your features.
After we determine your perfect shape, and have you’re approval (We will not proceed if you have not approved of the shape) We will then start the Microblading process. The first pass is to lay the ground work of your brows. We will then apply and second numbing and complete the second pass, this is to help ensure retention by introducing additional pigment into the skin. I will then give you healing instructions and take wayyyyy too many after photos of your brows.
That completes the Microblading process. Results for Microblading can last anywhere between 1-3 years. This depends on so many factors including skin type, activities, environment, etc (see FAQ for more)
After your first session, it is very important to remember to schedule your 6 week touch up! This appointment will help finalize and perfect your Microblading! We’ll introduce more pigment into the skin, as well as make any changes you would like! I prefer to think of this as the polishing appointment. The first appointment builds the basic structure of your Microbladed brows and the 6 week touch up, well for lack of better words, touches up and polishes the brows! It’s important NOT to put it off or wait more than 8 weeks for this touch up. If you wait too long after your initial appointment, it can potentially result in you having to repeat the process from the beginning.
I hope this helps answer any questions or concerns. I know I always feel more comfortable when I know what to expect in certain situations. If you have any more questions, please feel free to Email me at kaleighlbryce@gmail.com and I will respond as soon as I am able!
