K Artistry & The Woman Behind It

Since my 22nd Birthday is today I thought I would take a second and introduce myself to anyone who doesn’t know me or why I love what I do SO much! So here is a little background on the woman behind K Artistry and how it came to be!

I am the youngest of 5 kids and grew up with two older sisters that I look up to soo much! They would dress me up and throw tea parties for me and I always wanted to look like them and would steal all their clothes ahhaha (sorry). I’ve always been into beauty and trying to express myself through different methods.

I recently caught up with an old friend who mentioned how we would watch taylor swift music videos and I would ALWAYS try to recreate her looks haha. She told me she wasn’t surprised I ended up in this industry at all, but quite honestly, I was! Looking back it makes a lot more sense but being in the moment when I was 18 and deciding what I wanted to do, this was on the bottom of my list…

I used to watch makeup tutorials on youtube for HOURS. I then started practicing on myself or anyone who would let me! I became the go to for highschool dance makeup and I absolutely LOVED IT. But I always thought I needed to be a Doctor or Lawyer or something big to be successful. So at 17 I started studying to become a Medical Assisant! I fell in love with the integumentary system (which is basically your skin, hair, nails, lashes, etc) and decided I thought I wanted to become a PA in Dermatology.

After Graduation I quickly got a full time job working as a MA at a derm office! I really tried to love it, but I actually hated the medical side of it… But what I did love was seeing the transformation of my acne patients! The first time I’d meet them they would come in with their head down and hoodie up and super insecure, and then I watched as we got them on medication or whatever therapy the Dr. provided and they would come in happier and more confident EVERY time as their skin cleared up. I realized I wanted to be the reason someones confidence flipped a 180, I wanted to do THAT.

I started looking into Esthetics and I knew thats what I wanted to do. I quit my full time job and decided to go to Esthetician school full time. There I remember finding that lashes and brows were the fastest thing I could improve that would make someone feel like the queen they are! I started doing everything I could to learn more about those two things and decided then that I wanted to become the expert on those. I studied my booty off and passed all my state and national tests to become a licensed esthetician!

The thing about the beauty industry is that it’s CONSTANTLY changing. So even when you feel like you’ve mastered one aspect another shows up! I am always continuing my education and got my microblading license in January 2020 and now here I am signed up for more courses learning different methods and types of Permanent makeup to increase my knowledge for you DAILY.

And that about sums it up! Ofcourse there have been MANY ups and downs throughout this journey but I have learned something from every step. This business of mine is homegrown and I couldnt be here without you. I want you to know that it’s okay to follow your passion and step away from the path you thought you wanted. I am the happiest I’ve ever been and I am lucky enough to be doing something I am passionate about every day.

The best part is being able to help YOU feel more like yourself and enhance those beautiful features of yours to make you feel as amazing on the outside as I believe you all truly are in the inside.
